COLUMBIA Conversations: Giving Northwest History a VOICE!

COLUMBIA Magazine has been publishing the best writing about Pacific Northwest history for more than 30 years, and we’re excited to introduce a new audio podcast to bring you the voices of COLUMBIA writers and contributors.

Approximately once a month, we’ll be posting new episodes of Columbia Conversations on our Soundcloud page (on on this blog). We’ll be interviewing historians, archivists, curators and writers about their work to preserve and share Northwest history. We’ll also share excerpts from original oral history recordings and other snippets of vintage audio from around the Evergreen State and the Old Oregon Country.

Is there a Northwest historian or writer – maybe someone who wrote a recent piece for COLUMBIA or author of a recently published book – that you’d like us to feature in an upcoming episode? Or, is there a writer or researcher (or even an enthusiastic amateur historian) who should be published in COLUMBIA and should be in Columbia Conversations? Please let us know!

Also, if you have vintage recordings of oral histories of family members or other audio from the past, we’d love to know about those, too.

Please send your suggestions, questions or descriptions of recordings you have to
editor.columbia@gmail.com.
